Long Hair, Tattoos, Body Piercing
and the Way You Dress

So what is appropriate to wear or not.  Perhaps I should start with the women. Form fitting clothes are out.  Tight is not right.  Why?  Men like the form of a woman.  No doubt about it, men like the female form.  When you walk into a room and heads turn because your blouse is form fitting tight then that is not right.  If your skirt is so short that it distracts the men in the room it is wrong.  You can do the same thing with a floor length gown that is so form fitting it reveals, well it reveals too much.  Push up bras or wonder bras or whatever they are called are wrong.  Why?  They are designed specifically for the sake of inflaming passion.  Bikini's, thongs, Speedo's and the like are all designed to make men and women notice your body first.  Why else would a woman buy them if she did not want to be noticed for her sexuality?  For those of you who feel that times have changed and the old ways of dressing are out dated, keep this in mind.  Jesus hasn't been here in 2000 years.  When He returns I will bet you that He is going to have some pretty old fashioned ideas about fashion and dress.  In the time of Christ the difference between a whore's dress and a good woman's dress was nothing more than a slit up the side to reveal the whores leg and thigh. In Genesis 38 we see that the difference between a prostitute and a proper woman was that the prostitute covered her face with a veil. Probably not unlike how so many of our women today cover their faces with so much makeup.  My point is that it doesn't take much to give the entirely wrong image to the men around you.  A little too much makeup a little to tight blouse or a skirt that is just a little to short gives a signal.  I don't know how much makeup it takes to go from good girl to bad girl but I do know men and women all make that distinction in their minds.  This much is ok, this much makes a whore. Every one of us knows in our hearts that short is short for a reason and tight is tight for a reason and the reason is not to inspire bible study.  How often have I heard things like, he doesn't respect me for my mind, and he doesn't respect me for who I am?  Well, if you are dressed in a way that says here is my sexuality, and you can't get a man to look at your face, then maybe they are disrespecting you for who you show them you are.  Men do not show respect to harlots or whores, they simply don't. Men are very visual in nature.  They make distinctions and judge based on what they see.  Display your sexuality and that is what will be looked at, display your sex and that is what is noticed.  Some men would be that way even if you wore a Sherman Tank, but we are not talking about them right now.  A hemline above the knee, wrong, because it makes a man want to look up your dress.  A low cut or revealing blouse, wrong, because it makes a man want to look down your blouse.  A form fitting shirt or dress, or pants, wrong, because the first thing through a mans mind is sex when you enter a room.  And Christ said, Matthew 5:27-28, "You have heard it said, 'You shall not commit Adultery; But I say to you, that every one who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."  What is the motive behind the way you dress?  Why would anyone deliberately place a stumbling block in the path of a man just because she knows that she can?  If you walk in a room all form fitted, hiked up, cut down, wondered over and all of that, even a man with great control of his mind is going to have thoughts.  Why would you do that on purpose, when it could so easily be avoided?  Men have no imagination cover it up and we won't see it.  Expose it and you cause us to sin by our very nature.  That is so very cruel. Respect me by the way you dress and I will respect you for who you are.
So what do I think about pants?  Well, I feel that pants are men's clothing.  Think about this a minute, when a woman enters a room with short cut hair, a flannel work shirt, blue jeans and work boots on what do you think?  It all goes back to image.   A man's hair should be short and a woman's hair should be long.  Men wear pants and women don't. At least there was a time when they didn't.  However, I know a lot of women that would disagree.  Ok then, let me ask a question about pants.  Do pants follow and reveal your form?  If they didn't they wouldn't be pants they would be dresses.
